When calculating structural components or connections, the specified strength design value should be multiplied by the corresponding reduction factor.
1. Single-sided connected single angle steel:
1) Calculate the strength based on axial force and multiply the connection by a factor of 0.85;
2) Calculate stability based on axial compression:
The coefficient for equal-leg angle steel is 0.6 + 0.0015λ, but not greater than 1.0;
The unequal-leg angle steel with short sides connected together is multiplied by a coefficient of 0.5 + 0.0025λ, but not greater than 1.0;
Unequal-leg angle steel with long sides connected together is multiplied by a factor of 0.70;
λ represents the slenderness ratio. For single-angle steel compression bars without intermediate connections, the calculation should be based on the minimum radius of gyration. When λ < 20, λ is taken as 20;
2. For single-sided welding butt joints without backing plates, multiply by a factor of 0.85;
For high-altitude installation welds and rivet connections with poor construction conditions, multiply by a factor of 0.90;
4. The connection of countersunk head and semi-countersunk head rivets shall be multiplied by a coefficient of 0.80
Note: When multiple conditions coexist, their reduction factors should be multiplied together.
